Nationwide, Christian leaders aim to positively impact underserved urban youth. Many, however, have limited access to resources and skills to sustain their calling.
The DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative (DVULI) provides in-depth faith-based leadership training to empower leaders for lifelong careers in youth ministry.
Selected leaders from five cities join an 18-month program to develop practical leadership skills, they form close-knit cohorts, fostering a collaborative support system.
This initiative equips youth leaders to have a sustainable impact on their personal, organizational, and community lives.

Sustainable Impact
Across the country, thousands of urban youth leaders are on a mission to change their communities for the better. Despite their passion and drive, many lack the resources and skills needed to succeed. The DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative exists to come alongside these leaders and support them with high-level, faith-based leadership training. This training provides the skills and tools they need to work in urban youth ministry for the long haul. Our cause is to make a positive impact in the lives of disadvantaged urban youth by investing in their leaders.
How to Apply
Each year, in five select US cities, up to 60 urban youth leaders are identified to receive this training opportunity at no cost. Applications are only accepted from leaders between December and February. This process requires being nominated and invited to a private interview. Only the applicants who meet our selection criteria and requirements are accepted into the program.
